Dogman Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I have noticed that with some aircraft the default cockpit view zooms out without being commanded by any keyboard input which is very distracting when you are trying to take a bead on a ground target. At mission start the cockpit view zooms in to a normal angle and then shortly after zooms out. I can zoom the view in again to the original angle but then after a second or so it zooms back out again by itself. This issue affects the Hawk more than other aircraft but does not happen in the Huey, Sabre or the A10C. It happens in the P51 but the view that it defaults to is a more normal angle so it is not so much of an issue when it zooms to that angle by itself. My question is can this issue be fixed in game or do I need to start looking for LUA files to change FOV settings? ShuRugal Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 sounds like you have an axis bound to zoom somewhere and are jostling it without knowing it is bound.
sleepycanuck Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Dogman, if I am reading this correctly then the issue is most likely what ShuRugal has pointed out. All the Flaming Cliffs 3.0 aircraft have the z axis of the TrackIR bound to the zoom function where as DCS grade aircraft have the z axis of the TrackIR bound to the lateral forward/backward view by default. For all the aircraft that exhibit the problem set the z axis (Options\Controls menu) to lateral forward/backward view. Hope this helps. SleepyCanuck [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Dogman Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Thanks guys what you say makes sense and fits what is happening. I checked the axis assignments and Z axis for TrackIR are set up on the Absolute Longitude Shift Camera View. Unfortunately I can't see how to change the axis to the lateral forward/backward view as suggested.
