I picked up the G13 to round out my HOTAS setup and reduce the challenge of trying to line up my head tracker and mouse to hit those OSB's and other small or obscured switches. There's also something to be said for the feel of a button that you can find and hit without taking your eyes off of the action.

The G13 has a cool program that lets you set your macros how you want them and a bunch of other neat things. Normally, you find the keystroke you want to emulaulate, program the desired key, and the G13 duplicates that input when you strike it.

However, the OSB's don't have a default keyboard hotkey within DCS, and while the DCS control input menu is detecting the G13, it isn't recognizing any input when I try to map a function to its buttons.

I realize that I could define keystrokes for all 40 OSB's and then point the G13 at those keystrokes , but since that has obvious drawbacks, I'd prefer to have the G13 work like another joystick and just assign each button to an OSB directly.

Has anyone done this? Is there a faster way to do this than bind keystrokes for each OSB and then mapping the G13 to those strokes?

The G13 cannot operate without it's Logitech software, sorry to say. It's not recognized as a keyboard by windows.

Thanks, that seems to be the issue.

I went ahead and assigned keystrokes to all 40 OSB's and then used the G13 software to map buttons to those keystrokes.

Works great! It just took some time.
