Hello,

I'm new to DCS and find myself using the Create Fast Mission option quite a bit. A lot of it is FAM flights, landing practice, and scenic tours.

However, I also try to use Create Fast Mission for real combat flights, especially to try out different load-outs of weapons that I haven't tried before. The problem is that you generally find yourself facing a modern opponent.

A typical example is setting "Fighters" to "Min" on a flight with the MiG-21Bis. The game then spawns 2-8 F/A-18C Hornets and you find yourself massively outgunned as you try to outmaneuver AMRAAMs. The same holds true for the F-86F, MiG-15Bis, P-51D, etc.

It would be great if there was an era selector for the Fast Missions. Something that does not automatically sets the era to the player aircraft is even better.

Example, selecting 1940s opponents for the MiG-15 (spawns WWII fighters) if you wish to avoid dogfighting another jet or want to practice low speed/high AOA maneuvers against an armed opponent.

Ideally, every aircraft and weapon would have an "era tag" to create missions that match a given time frame. Here is a set of examples for fixed wing aircraft (I'm sure I left a lot of things out or missed certain details - its just an example).

1. 1940s (all the WWII birds)

2. 1950s (MiG-15Bis) (F-86F) (P-51D) (F8F-2)

3. 1980s (F-15C with AIM-7Ms) (F-14A - A-A only) (Mirage 2000) (MiG-29 without R-77s) (F-16A with AIM-9L only) (MiG-21Bis), etc

4. 1990s-2000s (F-15C with AIM-120s) (F-14B w/wo A-G role) (MiG-29 with R-77s) (F-16C) (Su-27)

I think that such a system would add a lot of functionality for quick missions and allow players to enjoy more random experiences with better balanced/accurate gameplay.

Every weapon and ground unit should be as well tagged with year entering to service.

So we can example see a newer fighter with a old missiles when newer models of missiles were not taken in the service.

It would make it very nice and easy way to type year and have fun.
