I have a query and I’m hoping someone here my be able to enlighten me as to weather this will work or not.

I currently own a copy of Lockon and a copy of Flaming Cliffs (boxed) how ever I have just upgraded my OS to Win64.

Now Lockon runs fine on Win64 but I know that flaming cliffs has Starforce on it and I doubt that the Starforce drivers will work with Win64 plus I’m very keen not to let Starforce back on my nice new system anyway, so I was thinking when Black Shark is released which as far as I know isn’t going to have Starforce on it would it be feasible to install Flaming Cliffs then Black Shark and then use the Starforce removing tool to stop it mucking my system up but still be able to play the game with all the content from both add-ons?

I know that Flaming Cliffs was never designed to work with Windows XP 64 and Eagle Dynamics have no obligation to solve my problem but I’m sure I’m not the only on who has this problem and it would certainly be a great workaround.

Any comments would be welcome, thanks.

I asked about this about 6 months ago the 64 bit OS that is. If you can run it then good for you. I dont rememeber anyone here being able to say there was an advantage with performance in Flaming Cliffs. I think there were only a few. Anyways at this point with vista out in november or abouts...... Im not willing to experiment with anything else.

Starforce? Im sure it is ready for the 64 bit os if you check the notes on what changes there have been made.

Seriously, Starforce doesnt do anything bad. Like he said get over it.

Starforce will work on x64 if it’s version 3.5 or later, but the one used on Flaming Cliffs is an older version and only works on 32bit systems so I’m stuck at LOMAC 1.0 at the moment. As far as getting over it goes I have had problems with starforce conflicting with both my software and hardware in the past, so I’m not going to chance it again, It’s just not worth it.

But thanks for the feedback.
