New instant action mission: Canyon Gun Run

I started flying the DCS Huey a few weeks ago. Although missions focussed on cargo transports, difficult landings etc are fun, when you are a beginner like me it is nice to have a few more weapons orientated missions. This mission is intended to be available as InstantAction mission, but can also be used as a standard single mission. I look forward to your comments!

 

Description (v0.9)

A small convoy is headed towards a base in the mountains. Destroy the APC in the convoy and the two watch towers at the base (in the current version no victory triggers yet, I will add those when I figure it out).

 

Installation

You can simply copy the mission file into the normal single mission folder or you can copy it into the QuickStart folder. In the latter case you will need to copy the quickstart file with the file I provided (make sure you back up your original first or use a mod manager).

 

Upuaut's Helipads_Cargo mod is required to get armed watch towers and helipad at the base.

Update 0.91

 

Changes

-added fuel truck at the start of the run to point people in the right direction

-added helipad and Mi-8MTv2 to give you a chance to make an air to air kill in a Huey! The Mi-8 will take off after a few minutes and run up river so you have to reach the base pretty quickly to catch it

-added mission description and image to file

 

Clarification: upuaut's Helipads_Cargo mod is required to get armed watch towers and helipad at the base. I love this mod for being able to add some variations to my mod. Thanks upuaut.

Actually, it is an old mission build for a previous Dcs version. I am away from my computer for some time, but you should be able to update it easily yourself. Just open the file in the mission editor and save it again. Also make sure to download the latest upuat mod.

 

There is hardly any scripting so should work without problems. Let me know what you think and I can make a better version for you in a few weeks time.
