  1. And perhaps the new version will come with the “castle cup” type DMS switch rather than the current “stadium” style switch. https://realsimulator.com/castle-cup/
  2. I suspect that they will follow their approach for the F18 Grips product range: only two options. A cheaper version with matte finish and an anti-slip version. And the cheaper version will get Bluetooth just for firmware upgrades. “Home line is available in two versions, the F18CGRH with a matte finish and slight grainy feel and the F18CGRH Anti-Slip, an exclusive and limited edition produced with a special rubberized anti-slip coating.” “The F18CGRH includes a Rotary switch installed under the TRIM hat switch cap to easily hot swap between 8 configurable memory slots, 5-way switches in all the hat switches (TRIM, SENSOR and WEAPON SELECT), 5-way switches where in real grip there is only 1 way (WR, NWS and RECCE), a realistic trigger, a Bluetooth LE for firmware upgrade and three status LEDs used to show the slot in use.” “First all, we want to clarify that the F18CGRH has a BLE module for firmware update purposes. Realsimulator has left opened to the users the possibility of using the BLE module as an alternative way for communications, but this way won’t receive support from Realsimulator since we have been able to verify that the problems some users had with this functionality was caused by the BLE devices used, wrong installations or even by electromagnetics interferences with other devices or nets, in any case, home problems not product problems.”
  3. Hi, I have just received my new F16 ICP from Simgears an Italian company. At my request Andrea and his team designed a new mounting solution to fit to the 75 mm VESA holes of the Obutto Revolution mounting plate for steering wheels. Andrea was incredible supportive responding typically within a few hours of my emails. I initially had some issues that windows 10 didn’t recognize the device. I believe this is an issue of my old motherboard. After I switched to a powered USB extension on a USB 2 port everything works flawlessly. Let me know if you have any questions.
  4. Hi Cnuke, and Maximov, thanks for your suggestions. Sorry it took a while to respond. It took a week before I had the chance to fly DCS again. I am pretty satisfied with the FPS I get in DCS in general. Around 45-50 fps above Damascus in free flight (not bad for a cpu from circa 2012). I think the bottleneck in my system is the processor (i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz), and the 16Gb memory and not my graphics card (1070). I have most options on high. I am wondering about the aspect ratio, for 1920 x 1080, 1.778 seems the correct ratio. I have both DCS and windows on separate SSD's. The reason I think that the cpu is the weakest link is that when AI units are activated in scenario's I sometimes experience a short slow-down of a few micro-seconds (even if the AI units are not directly visible to me). So far I haven't had any problems with CTD on Syria anymore (since I increased the swap file). But I have had little time to fly so far. If I notice anything interesting I will let you guys know. I would like to configure a new pc around a new powerful cpu, and faster memory, new motherboard, etc. And I would rather not spend money on my current relatively slow memory type. I guess I am waiting for a sign from the gods or the stars to align before pulling the trigger on the pc upgrade. Thanks again for your help.
  5. Hi Maximov, thanks for your help. After increasing the swap file to 25 Gb and updating the nvidia driver I was able to load the Syria map. Upgrading my pc is definitely on my wish list, just waiting for gpu prices to drop a bit ... Thanks again
  6. Hi, I have tried two instant action missions (F16 and Huey) and one F16 mission and the game crashes to desktop just as it is finishing loading the Syria map. I purchased the Syria map two days ago and finished downloading it yesterday. I already tried the check local game files, and after that tried the F16 standard mission resulting in the third CTD. The log file mentions out of memory error. dcs.20220130-170340.crash dcs.log dcs.20220130-163540.crash
  7. I guess I was leaning too much on my earlier learned behaviour from the previous version. Thanks for the interesting comments. I did wonder why I didn't get any bingo fuel messages from my AI wingman when I was doing some DCS Liberation missions.
  8. Thank you for replying BigNEWY. I have now checked it for the Nevada CAS and the Caucasus mission editor case and in both cases it is due to the position of the fuel gauge knob. I am not sure whether this is due to the changes from A10C to A10C II, but shouldn't the knob be set to INT or MAIN as a standard? In which position was it for you when you started the mission? I wonder whether the last position of the knob is carried over from a previous mission or campaign. It is a minor issue. In any case thank you gents for responding so quickly.
  9. Thank you Solo_Turk that seems to be the issue. For example below I switched the fuel knob to main in the instant action CAS Nevada mission. And the gauge went up to 3. Shouldn't the fuel gauge be set to MAIN as standard?
  10. I am running DCS world beta 2.7.9.18080, single player, and I am finding too low levels of fuel at the start of missions / campaigns. I initially noticed it in DCS Liberation, but I did a few tests without Liberation to exclude this as as cause. Example 1: Mission editor - a10C II at Batumi airport with no weapons. In mission editor it shows 100% fuel, after starting the fuel gauge shows only up to 2 (six is maximum) Example 2: A10C II instant action free flight - in this mission the fuel gauge shows less than 0.5 fuel. As this mission is intended to fly around, I would expect a high level of fuel (and almost no weapons). So another indication that there is something wrong with the fuel calculation or fuel gauge or something related. Example 3 A10C II instant action CAS Nevada - near zero fuel at the start of the mission mission editor fuel test.miz
  11. Thanks Norbot, Steinsch, Ams99. I appreciate you guys for making live easy.
  12. Thanks for your reply BigNewy. Just for the fun of it I repeated the last mission tonight, with exactly the same result. Seams like the AI does not avoid this building at all.
  13. I encountered a problem with AI vehicles that need to reach a certain objective of getting stuck on buildings. The result is that I cannot complete that mission successfully and have to redo it. Happened in mission push 12-2 of the Georgian campaign as well as the last mission. In both cases Bradley vehicles. This campaign involves groups of abrams tanks and bradley vehicles being commanded by the player, but only the bradley vehicles get stuck. This could be because the tanks mostly follow roads or drive across open terrain whereas the bradley tanks go in between buildings. Latest stable version of DCS.
  14. I did a full wipe and reinstall and that seems to have solved the issue. Some files were still from 2015 when I did the first install, so perhaps on the way something got corrupted.
  15. I noticed in the Red Flag campaign that my AI wingman had no problem in despatching T90 tanks one after another with the gun. Whereas I barely inflicted 5-10% damage with a few hundred rounds. T50's are a lot easier, my personal policy is now to just use mavericks and guided bombs on the more modern tanks.
