speeding up missions

i'm doing the campaign missions and getting a little bit tired of flying 20 minutes to the target and getting shot down in about 2 minutes...then having to re-fly the entire route.

 

Getting really good at navigation...

 

Any way to speed up this "dead" travel time.

put your ka50 into route mode and hit Cntrl Z to time accelerate... alt Z brings you back to normal.

I think Shift Z is time acceleration = 1. alt Z is time acceleration x .5. If you acceleration to 5-10 times speed, that will save some key presses and reduce the chance of overshooting.

 

Time acceleration in F10 map view is probably best, but be careful with large time accelerations, DCS may start to lag at certain speeds. It depends heavily on how populated the map is and what the AI is doing. I can get to 30+ times normal speed on an empty map, but dense missions can crawl at 4 times speed.
