Pineapple Pete Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Greetings, While reading through the AFM I found a reference to the Aileron Rudder Interface. I assume this functions similar to a yaw damper. On a recent test flight I rolled right and left with no rudder and while watching the turn and slip indicator, the airplane appeared to stay in a somewhat coordinates turn. I then engaged CAS Yaw to see if the airplane behaved any differently. I could tell no discernable difference. These turns were all made at 5000 feet by the way. Does any one have thoughts on when and how to use the CAS features? Thanks It is always best to not fly too fast or fly too slow. So I fly half fast. :D
GGTharos Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 You never turn off CAS. CAS off on any channel is an emergency. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Pineapple Pete Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Then it follows that CAS is always on and the function of L Cntl 1,2, and 3 is to turn CAS off? Just trying to get my arms around the employment of these keys. Thanks. It is always best to not fly too fast or fly too slow. So I fly half fast. :D
GGTharos Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 That is correct. CAS should be on by default. You don't touch CAS unless you have a reason to, and about the only reason for it is CAS going wonky or very peculiar flight testing :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
