Fer109 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Working with loadouts in A-10A, I discovered two differents selectables ALQs in wingtips. They are ALQ-131 and ALQ-184. I searched info about the later, but unable to find any word in the flight manuals. My questions so far: 1. Any info about ALQ-184 compared with ALQ-131? 2. Initially we can carry both at the same time (one in each wingtip). Could it be useful? 3. In Su-27, its recommended to carry both jammers in wingtips (as indicated in flight manuals), what about in A-10A? Would be useless to carry 2 ALQ-131s? 4. Is there any warning light in A-10A cockpit that advice us ALQ is connected like in other planes? Thank you in advance for the replies to some of my questions.
Exorcet Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 The 184 is lighter and less draggy. I think they have the same ECM performance in sim. You should only carry one jammer on the A-10, two is redundant. There is a ECM light in the A-10 cockpit, but I forget where it is. Turn on ECM and you should see it flash for a while. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Dutchy93 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 When you switch on the ecm you will see a small green light blink on your right horizontal panel. 1
