SnP102 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Good Evening, I have downloaded 1.5 and have installed the modules and such. Is there any reason to keep 1.2 installed? Will uninstalling it cause issues for 1.5?
Gladman Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 It is a separate install and will not affect your 1.2. If you fly multiplayer don't uninstall 1.2 yet, there's bugs to be worked out in 1.5 given its a beta. My squad gave it a try but its not quite ready. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord
NeilWillis Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 You have 2 installs, the full release version of DCS World, (currently 1.2.16) and a Beta install (DCS World 1.5). When the full release version of 1.5 comes along, it will be put into your full release install location. Then, when the next Beta comes along (Probably 2.0, assuming 1.5 is upgraded to full release status before 2.0 arrives). The best approach is to keep both, and when new releases come along, all you need to do is update the current Beta, and when a new full release comes along, just update the full release version. The only additional house keeping I carry out is to keep a backup of both full and beta saved games folders. They contain all your settings, and as long as you place your liveries etc intpo that area, you will never lose them. The only difficulty would of course be finding room for both installs, but with cheap hard drives available, it shouldn't be an issue, even if you have to have the Beta on a non-solid state drive.
