HeadHunter52 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 System RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600 CPU: C2D 3.6GHz GPU: GTX 750Ti 2GB While flying P-51D in MP, system RAM continually increases, and game will stutter the screen, run for a few seconds then the screen will freeze. The last image will stay put. I can Ctl Alt Del to task manager and close DCS. Leaving the image on screen for a while does not result in a recovery. Sometimes, Windows will say DCS stopped working. Sound may continue for a few seconds after the screen freezes. All other Windows system functions continue, and I can keep talking with others on TeamSpeak. HeadHunter52 Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Virtual Memory settings were 12000 - 24000. Set them to system controlled, and the game crashed, after a clean reboot, before I could get into the cockpit. I watched RAM climb from about 31% at game launch and reach 51% at the crash - no freeze this time, but a "DCS Has Stopped Working. Windows is searching yadda yadda yadda..." New ZIP file with the new DMP and CRASH appended.Logs.zip Dogs of War Squadron Call sign "HeadHunter" P-51D /Spitfire Jockey Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR /Q9650 3.6Ghz | 16GB DDR3 1600 RipJaws | EVGA GTX-1060 ACX3 FTW | ThrustMaster 16000m & G13 GamePad w/analog rudder stick | TurtleBeach EarForce PX22 | Track IR5 | Vizio 40" 4K TV monitor (stuck temporarily with an Acer 22" :( )
jejsus Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I second this. It starts to heavily stutter the sound is there but DCS freezes. Just to add that this never happens to me on single player. It recovered more often few days back but now I almost allways have to ctrl+alt+del.
giei Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Same problem :( I'm flying since 1988 (Flight Simulator 3.0) :pilotfly:
HeadHunter52 Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 jejsus' comments match my experience. SP is fine. Aside from the obvious frustration with this, I get to wondering about the mechanics of the issue. It is somewhat fascinating - the inner workings of memory management and server /client interaction. I hope it is a simple thing for the ED folks to rectify. 1.5 is a beautiful thing. When it works, my FPS is up, I can SEE and HIT targets. The visual feedback make my flying better. It is worth the issues right now, and I'm getting some great practice in SP. jejsus Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Just a quick update - Yesterday I had the same issue again on two different servers (I was in the flanker), but this time it happened just after engaging with target, at about 30-40km distance on both servers. @HeadHunter52 I agree - totally worth the issues especially after I saw a performance boost on my system I never wanna look back again. Except for visibility, I can't tell that it is a huge improvement, but I don't know how relevant I am with my old (but quality) 1680*1050 monitor.
