  1. Dear fellow simmers, it's been quite a ride this whole topic, yet I don't think we came far. It is turning into a fight for advantage as I see it and for who is a bigger fish in a tank. Clearly narrative here is that multiplayer community is the smaller one here and that they should carry the burden. While I see it from a different perspective and give more weight to a group of people doing stuff together, while the single player group individuals are playing to their own apetites not willing to delay few functions, neither bugs that come with it, not even for two-three days (don't forget, that multiplayer community also likes new stuff, we just like to get together online more). I still think we could be more balanced and supportive toward each others interests and the developer should plan actions in this direction. I know there is a lot of work put in to this, and the developers are also human, eager to show public their great achievements, and they have a good reason to do so, still some hard rules on release days could be introduced, or client/server cross-compatibility trough versions should be adjusted. One can turn my facts around anytime to bash me for his own advantage, but there is no progress for the community as a whole in that, and please go trough the whole thread befor giving me the advice how to arrange my or squadrons actions, schedule, as this is not a better solution for this subject, but more like taking an aspirin for healing purposes. It doesnt even matter if I have or am in the squadron, we don't need to get that close... It's about a player not being able to update in time to participate on the multiplayer when he/she has the most quality time to do so. To add that that two-year old video is still relevant to this date, as there is no point of releasing a stable version each month. It actually solves nothing on this topic. And yes updates don't always come on friday, but it sucks for some people when they do. Lets not forget that we learn how to fly aircraft here, so we should consider ourselves as an advanced users, not needed to be pointed toward selection to the one of the two buttons on the gui. Best regards.
  2. Not true, there is no stable version in DCS. Let the professional explain it to you : And to put us 12-24 months behind the newest release as a solution, seems absurd to me. Other metrics should be also adjusted then, for even considering to take this kind of a step-back. Another too-narrow approach for my taste. You don't need a very fast internet connection to play multiplayer and even in the very brief/unthorough initial post I managed to squeeze BIG updates in there as an issue.
  3. I agree to some extent, that being it should not serve only for this reason, but maybe being provocative might help multiplayer community, as it seems we are the minority and our problems not taken into account many times. quoting: ... so as much as I regret it, it might be necessary to scream and to provoke more on this topic. Not solving issues as a whole creates opposing interests right away. I don't think it's the right way, more like an excuse. While the solution mentioned above solves the problem only for entirely closed community it still does not solve the problem for the groups that are engaging on random servers. At least ED could announce the update in advance so that mission planners could reorganize. Maybe it's not possible for other reasons, idk.
  4. Thank you for your constructive replies. This would function in the case if squad owns their own server. In my experience there was always atleast one who even accidentaly pushed the button and we had to revert him. In this case even gui revert option whould make things easier, not having to point people to command line.
  5. Keyboard? Thanks, im not a gear junkie, but I can buy you one, as you will definitely need it, there is a lot of muscle memory to use till you reach 10000 important posts. We are fighting over something that we wouldn't have to if id didn't came into existance yesterday evening (my time). it totaly ruined my flying night (and i know im not alone), but I'm happy for all the lost souls to whom waiting to trigger that update button is more important that flying a normaly functional simulator with their buddies. Trough the weekend. So dear mr. Mission developer, I wish you happy bug tracking and reporting troughout the weekend, that only you can enjoy. And you didn't need to use this thread for promotion.
  6. Most squadroons that I know for have trainings on friday evenings. I'm comming from that, not from my own perspective or selfishness... They sure are not satisfied with having to wait for members to update 20gigs and unpack 65gigs, I know from experience. 4ship becomes 3 or 2ship. I'm not forcing my priorities here, I just want to let the developers know that it's not practical for the MP community. And if you do a wide-scale research on when squads have trainings, you will confirm on what I'm talking about here. So no need to come back at me with a change of a schedule and these kind of proposals as it doesn't work in real life. I am also questioning how legit replies from members with 1500+ posts are, as if I count in typing + updating, there's very little time for flying hours.
  7. You are turning it into a competition of who can and can't update faster, while my intention is for all to enjoy a gameplay as used to, trough the weekend, not excluding any participants, while you intend to leave people behind, which is even worse than being selfish, it's actually malicious. The non-explanatory argument here is on point. I apologize for that and am sorry I posted in anger, should take more time to consider all options and apetittes, but still don't regret it.
  8. It breaks the weekend plans for the people with slower internet connection since many times updated servers are not visible to non-updated clients, so they can't engage in squad trainings, and for some the multiplayer weekend is gone as they have to run update for 24-48h... But you can continue your selfish and ignorant button theory mr.Rudel.
  9. Hello, I have this problem since the begining of this module. Both MFD controllers manipulate the same MFD in the game, evethough they are detected and binded seperately. This doesn't occure on other modules (f18, f16). Im attaching the scr of my controllers with ID's.
  10. Hello, I'd really like to thank you for all the good work! Now, I'm trying to get this script to work on our server, but for unknown reason slots are still unlocked. I get the confirmation on the chat, but with no effect. I installed the script as described and also had input user manually into clients_registration.csv but still no luck. I wonder if I'm missing something. Do I have to load the script in mission editor?
  11. It actually defogged in 1st cycle after I turned it on on the first fog layer. Looks like It needs two cycles on late defogging. Thank you for your quick response. Love the plane!
  12. Defog is not defogging for me. I hope I didn't miss something but it's the same on a cold start or hot... I will add the video once is processed. Here's the video: JF17 Defog Bug.trk
  13. I know we can remove this effect with a mod, but it results in IC not passing through. Now I know MP is aimed toward equality with IC check, but in this case, all canopies on all planes should turn white under the same conditions and I clearly can't find any other plane that does this to the extent JF17 does it. Cause you know, because of ED's graphic engine limitation, the best player's eye already has only about 60% vision, I see it as a very poor decision to damp it down even further.
  14. I can't find manual nose cone position turn-knob in bindings, not in axis menu neither on button menu... Does anyone know if it's doable?
