Zahael Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Hey all, I have been experiment with various in game camera angles. I am after the answers to a few questions. First, in a few of Glowing Amraams clips, and others, I have noticed a really cool effect. In his latest movie, hot zone, there are a few shots where its like a camera is fixed to the tip wing of the aircraft and pointed back towards the nose. How is this achieved? I have been trying to replicate this, but I can't seem to. Secondly, according to my key commands print out, ctrl-(key pad 1-9)(Meaning pressing ctrl then and of the keys from 1 to 9 on the key pad) moves the camera instead of rotates it. I can't get this command to work. At all. I haven't tried using it in a track setting, which is the onyl thing I haven't done, but using the command (say, pressing ctrl-key pad 6 while in external view) does nothing. Does anyone else experience this? I am sure I must be doing something wrong. This command seems to be different than shift-escape, which allows the user to point the camera in any direct while rotating on its own axis (instead of rotating it around the focus point ie an aircraft). Any suggestions? This is really pissing me off!! Cheers all. Zahael

Zahael Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks man. I did a lot of reading, and found the setting camera terrain thingy to false looks really cool, so that is one thing I didn't know before! Unforunately, I could find no specific examples relating to the question of how to get the camera attached to the wing of an aircraft and keep its motion relative to that.. I did read a post that seemed to talk about it, and they talked about changing a specific file, but they didn't say what file it was and what had to change. I'll keep looking, but does anyone know what it is? ANd i still don't know what the go is with the Ctrl-keypad commands as mentioned in my ealier post. it still doesnt seem to work. Does it work for anybody? Cheers Zahael
Solidburn Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Is there a way to enable external view After you've recorded a track? So you can concentrate on flying first, then worry about camera angles when you're ready to make it into a video. VMFA117_Poko Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Is there a way to enable external view After you've recorded a track? So you can concentrate on flying first, then worry about camera angles when you're ready to make it into a video. Naturally You can! You have to after recording track press CTRL+E or select "Edit track" in upper menu. Then after editing don't forget to save new track. Finally press CTRL+P or select PLAY from upper menu and watch what you've made... Short advices in editing: it's better to simulate real camera man work to get realistic impression of your video, so keep away from settle camera in places where it couldn't be placed. There are some exceptions ofcourse! Also good thing is to change the values of mouse sensitivity (view.lua) for smooth camera movement. Don't forgot to make a backup! Good luck!
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted June 22, 2006 ED Team Posted June 22, 2006 Instead of having to manually change some annoying parameters (and keep going in and out of lomac just to get the view right), go to this thread here: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=16466 and download that utility. With this little neat program you can easily customize your F4 view and place the camera wherever you want on each of the jets in lomac. Its a HELL of a lot easier than messing with the .lua file. cheers https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted June 22, 2006 ED Team Posted June 22, 2006 to change the values of mouse sensitivity (view.lua) for smooth camera movement Speaking of which, what mouse settings do you have for the sens? I noticed that even when you zoomed in, you would still have pretty smooth mouse control. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
Solidburn Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Thank you all Very much...I was a little hesitant about asking...seemed like an asinine question. Might start making a few movies of my own G-A ;) (I think ED should contract out to you for promos and trailers though) "I know Not that which you have said, but if I had medication I would (Robin Williams)" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Zahael Posted June 22, 2006 Author Posted June 22, 2006 Cheers all. I am glad that that particular question has been answered. Now the second part of my question, which I find incredibly frustrating. Does anyone know if the ctrl-(key pad 1-9) as listed in the key commands doc in Lomac, actually works, and if so, how does it work? Its supposed to move the camera during external views, (perhaps like strafing?) but I can't get it to move!!! Anybody? Cheers Zahael
