Been hunting around the forum for a bit now, didn't find anything, so here we go!

Found this one out by accident after update to 1.5.1 last night. After hopping into the Huey, getting it fired up and flying around for a minute, I suddenly had this nagging feeling that I had forgotten a some steps in the startup procedure. Sure enough, a look at the overhead panel confirmed it, I had started up this bird with the inverter off, as it was still off! :noexpression: Tested it several times this morning, does the same thing.

Doesn't the inverter only power Avionics and on board systems? I'm pretty sure you can fly the bird around with the inverter off, so this isn't a glitch.

I don't see the problem, you should start with the INVRT off and switch to MAIN ON after the engine is running (according to the checklist).

Alright, so after re looking over the manual, I see I was quite mistaken. It isn't a problem with the inverter. Though I do have another question somewhat related. The manual says to have the AC selector switch set to 'AC Phase' before startup, is it normally possible to start the Huey with that switch in either of the other two positions?

The reason why I ask is, prior to 1.5.1, I had issues getting the engine to crank over fast enough to start. Switching to AC Phase seemed to alleviate that symptom.

I wonder if it was something else I was doing wrong? I don't seem to have any issues getting the Huey operational and airborne at all anymore. Sorry to take up everyone's time with something that must have obviously been Pilot Error. Thank you.

The AC Phase selector only selects which phase is shown on the voltmeter.

Try using external power if the battery is low (and it will get weak after a failed try or two).

P.S.

Why are you sorry? This is what the forum is for. I made (and still make) plenty of errors in the sim and on the forum (oh, and in my life...)

Thank you for your advice and your help. I appreciate it immensely!

Edit: Don't like wasting other's time on something that's quite possibly my own fault. Never have.
