Crumpp Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Has anyone noticed the elevator feel has changed? Did I miss something in the updates? Since the last update in DCS 1.5 Beta, the Dora's elevator has lost its crisp feel. It now feels very much like a cable and pulley control system, mushy and not very precise. I recalibrated my controls but it remains. Answers to most important questions ATC can ask that every pilot should memorize: 1. No, I do not have a pen. 2. Indicating 250
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Crumpp, I'm no near my flightsim PC, but will check again latter tonight, but I've been using the Fw190 extensively ( yesterday at many online sessions ) and I confess I didn't notice the change ? Will report back. Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
Crumpp Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Thanks! That is why I am asking. I fly both the P-51 and the Dora. Since the latest update, the Dora hasn't been the same. Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Thanks! That is why I am asking. I fly both the P-51 and the Dora. Since the latest update, the Dora hasn't been the same. Might it be because the devs included some sort of stiffening effects with increasing dynamic pressure ? Again, I didn't yet notice it in my flights. I always set the pitch axis for the Dora at 8% from linear, 12% for the rudder. I'll try to test it tonight, as promised :-) Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
Crumpp Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Try it and confirm it but I think I found the issue. My joystick was spiking badly. I reinstalled CH Manager, drivers, calibrated everything, and reassigned the controls in DCS. It is back to the old Dora....at least offline. I would link up with you online but I have to work. Two day trip ahead... Answers to most important questions ATC can ask that every pilot should memorize: 1. No, I do not have a pen. 2. Indicating 250

Two day trip ahead... I did try it last night and didn't find anything different in my setup, using a T.16000. Somehow during the patch history it got a bit of ( plausible ) filtering with increasing "q", but it has been there for quite a long time, I guess... It's a great fighter / bomber in DCS World, provided one knows how to properly make use of it's strong points, and avoid it's weaknesses ... Crumpp Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Went online and had the same results. Offline everything is fine. The elevator feels completely different offline compared to online. Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Went online and had the same results. Offline everything is fine. The elevator feels completely different offline compared to online. So strange ? Maybe today's update solves it. I got an update today, but didn't try any flights after it... Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 The update mentioned above in my last post didn't do anything, but yesterday's night update did for sure! When I started DCS 1.5.1 and 2.0 yesterday there was a new updater update, but truth is the strange prop strike due to pitch trim set at only 2º nose down after engine start ( auto-start through RWIN HOME as I use most of the time because of being fan of the "E" key in BoS :-) ), that strange sudden nose deep effect that caused my prop to strike is no longer there! At the BURNING SKIES server, starting my p51d from the ramp, watching the nose down trim 2º being applied at the end of the auto-start seq. an while taxiing I noticed no problem at all. I wonder if this is in the origin of the problems of a complete different feel of the P51 when flying online as opposed to offline. Regarding this prop strike issue, at least at the other thread where I mention it, I reported that there was no problem when starting and taxxing offline - just online and at the BURNING SKIES server because that's the one I use. gavagai Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I haven't noticed a change. Keep in mind that on the Nevada map every aircraft will seem slightly sluggish compared to Crimea because of the starting altitude (Las Vegas is a bit more than 2000ft asl). P-51D | Fw 190D-9 | Bf 109K-4 | Spitfire Mk IX | P-47D | WW2 assets pack | F-86 | Mig-15 | Mig-21 | Mirage 2000C | A-10C II | F-5E | F-16 | F/A-18 | Ka-50 | Combined Arms | FC3 | Nevada | Normandy | Straight of Hormuz | Syria
