I am still playing the original LOMAC, and just like in Flanker 2.0, I notice that there is never data transmitted to my MFD from EWR stations. I only get it when I have AWACS available. Has this problem been fixed in FC?

It seems as if the air defense modeling in the original Flanker series was more realistic. In LOMAC, GAI aircraft seem to have the magical ability to detect any aircraft flying at any altitude at any distance, regardless of RCS. I have become frustrated with B-1Bs flying at 20m being intercepted by from 100s of kilometers away, even without EWR or AWACS and F-117s being detected and shot down by SAMs.

There is a known bug that informs GAI flights about any enemy flights anywhere on the map if there are any EWR or AWAC on their side.

No otherwise tasked planes suffer from this bug.

No EWR or AWAC & GAI have a 60km detection range.

I think EWR call out now for me in 1.12a.

Cheers.

how would 60km w/ no EWR or AWACS realistic? how would they detect bogeys that far without radar?

Air traffic control radars? The same ones that tell you which is the nearest base when you ask the tower.

Next time you're on the runway in LOMAC, look around. There are radar dishes spinning on every runway.

I guess in reality, an area as heavily militarised as this is going to have some sort of radar coverage over all of it.

The 60km figure is just a threshold beyond which the GAI unit will 'leave it to someone else'.

Cheers.
