Zimmerdylan Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Hey folks. I just started to really use the bullseye as a flying reference. I watched: [ame] [/ame] and it gave me the gist of it. I was wondering tho, how do you quick reference all of the degrees around the bullseye? Do you have a quick reverence handy sitting next to you on paper, or do you just kind of have it in your head? Would it be on the kneeboard? Thx!:pilotfly:
Jester Darrak Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) Usually Bullseye is one of your waypoints and once you are around, you just need to look at your HSI. It shows your own reference to bullseye in degrees heading and nautical miles distance. You call a bandit with BRAA, but from your own position. If you also call your position one could easily triangulate position of the bandit using the ruler in F10 map. If the bandit is far out you can even use the BRAA to find his grid. Giving as much info to your fellow pilots as possible will favor you in killing him and come out alive. The longer you fly, the more you will use BRAA and bulls as reference. At one point you will simply know where you are, look at the radar and give quick and precise information. It's all in the practice. ;) Edited December 4, 2015 by Jester Darrak

When it is called on the radio to me as an incoming and I do not have eyes on it.
GGTharos Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 For BRAA, that's easy because the bearing is from your position. For bulls, look up fix to fix navigation. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
