erwabo Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I am new to DCS and I am trying to create a basic profile using my Saitek X45 however when trying to map, MOST of my controls are being recognized as JOY_BTN1, JOY_BTN3, JOY_BTN9...etc. I couldn't find any documentation stating which is what button on the joystick. Does anyone have any references for this stick or is it just trial and error? Thanks
Sporg Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Usually you can see the button numbers in the Windows Control Panel for your x45. What I would suggest is to find a x45 template and then write down on that one the Windows number of each button. Example of a template here: 1 System specs: Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440) Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
erwabo Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Yes I checked in there but it calls them Rotary 1, Rotary 2, Throttle, POV1. POV2, etc...no reference to that JOY_BTN1 names I was seeing in DCS

If you use the template, at least you only have to do it once. :) System specs: Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440) Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
Sokol1_br Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Clear the names in above template. Pic a empty command in DCS controls, press a button, take note of this button number in the template, repeat with the remaining button for the same command. Do the same for axis one using a empty axis function (or use a well know, eg. ailerons). Ending find the DCS names, clear that command in controls. Now map the buttons as want.
