sedenion Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 (edited) I know this is a beta, but i think it's better to say it now: There is a crual lack of bindable shortcuts that fit the standard DCS key mapping... I know, the M2000 is not like other aircraft, but we obviously need some shortcut since we don't have hands in the cockpit... (many things can be mapped to some equivalent key used by other modules) For (non exhaustive) example: - VTB On/Off switch - Nav Light switch - Radar illumination modes (Off / Warmup / Silent / Emit ) - Radar Range (can be binded like the "MFD zoom", to an joystick axis. It's not "realistic" in M2000 context (since it's a swicht) but this is convenient) - Nav Modes ( bindables in cycle with "1" key like other modules) - 530 Mode, Magic Mode, Gun Mode... all bindable on standard "2, 3, 4, 5" etc.. key... - Radar Special Modes... - Ground Mode bindable to 8, 9 key, etc.. - Gun modes (LEN / RAP) - RWR Switch - BECS Switch (bindable to standard Flaps keys) - Target Designator : Why don't use the standard keys used for all others modules in DCS ? - Reset Audible Warning - ECM On/Off - Etc.. There is already many common functions existing in other DCS modules as "standard pattern" which can be transposed in the M2000C... I don't say "transpose ALL", but here we have a real problem i think since almost nothing is transposed... even not the Target Designator... Edited December 25, 2015 by sedenion

There is a keyboard map section where it shows you they keys for some of your requests. I have binded some of those keys to my Saitek X-55 Rhyno system. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
sedenion Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 I understand, but the current key mapping is very strange comparing to others modules... as i begin to understand the M2000 systems, it apear that is not much diferent to others, and many thing can be transposed... for example On key "1" we cycle through Nav modes. In M2000 that mean: - Master Arm Off + cycle througt PCA On key "2" we have "BVR" mode. In M2000 that mean: - If we are in Nav mode: Master Arm On + Select 530 if available - If we are in any CAC special mode: Special Modes Deselect + Select 530 if available On key "3", "4", "5", we usualy have CAC modes. In M2000 that mean: - Cycle through Special Modes with Key "3" for example OR - Key "3" = Vertical Scan Special Mode - Key "4" = Horizontal Scan Special Mode - Key "5" = Bore mode Special Mode - Key "6" = Cycle through Special Modes The "D" key is usualy for Cycle through weapons, In M2000 that mean: - Cycle through the PCA Bottom Row The "C" key is usualy to select gun (not for gun modes, just to switch to the gun). In M2000 that mean: - Unselect any PCA Bottom Row (which returns the default weapon ie. The Gun...) For Gun modes through LEN / RAP, it already exists the "LShift + C" combo used by Su-25T for the same usage. For Gun modes between A-A or A-G mode, the A-G gun mode can be mapped to the "7" or "8" Key, used for special longitudinal or ground mode in other modules... For the Radar - the "i" key can be used as radar ON / OFF - Combo "RShift+i" is usualy PRF selection - Combo "Ralt+i" is usualy RWS/TWS (PSID / PSIC) selection - Combo "RCtrl+i" can be used as cycle through radar power mode P / S / EM - Combo "LShift+i" can be used as cycle through radar aperture - Combo "Lalt+i" can be used as cycle through Bar count - Etc... Sam logic for ECM, RWR, VTB etc...
sedenion Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Also, separate bindable commands for "Master arm ON" dans "Master arm OFF" would be convenient for HOTAS profiles... or at least a bind to the "Nav Mode" (key "1") command that disable the Master Arm...
