Deano87 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Hi Guys Love the M2000! It's a hoot to fly and is beautiful to boot. But I do have a couple of issues. My main one is that fact that with the Oculus Rift I get very poor FPS with the M2000. I don't have any issues with an other aircraft (I have all modules apart from the Mig-21) but in the cockpit of the M2000 it's stutter city for me. I don't have exact FPS figures but I can get them at some other time. It *seems* as though it might be something to do with the HUD, I'm not sure though. Anyway. I have no problem playing DCS in the Rift with other aircraft. I was looking forward to the M2000 but the stuttering is making it a no-go for me currently :( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Proud owner of: PointCTRL VR : Finger Trackers for VR -- Real Simulator : FSSB R3L Force Sensing Stick. -- Deltasim : Force Sensor WH Slew Upgrade -- Mach3Ti Ring : Real Flown Mach 3 SR-71 Titanium, made into an amazing ring. Jansgi Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I don't have Oculus but still bad fps. On other modules I get a steady 60fps but with the M2000 its only 20-30. One of my friends has almost identical hardware as me but he doesn't have any fps issues. AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT G.Skill 64GB (4 x 16GB) Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600MHz
Deano87 Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Aha, I'm glad its not just an Oculus related issue as I love the rest of the aircraft. Something is definitely too hungry as its even giving me terrible FPS in external view. Anyway here my screenshots showing my FPS. All identical scenarios. As you can see the M2000 both inside and out bring my system to its knees (in Oculus terms) Interestingly if you compare the number of triangles (TRG) being processed and the V mem being used they are about the same although the M2000 external seems to be quite a lot heavier than the A-10 although that not surprising. Interestingly in the m2000 cockpit there is about 200 more objects being rendered so there is obviously a lot going on in there. I'm wondering if it is the FBW system that is using resources or something else? very odd. I understand its a Beta though so hopefully it can be improved :) System Specs. i7-4790K @4.6 16GB Ram GTX970 Strix OCed Oculus Rift DK2 Nvidia Driver 359.06 (not latest) Proud owner of: PointCTRL VR : Finger Trackers for VR -- Real Simulator : FSSB R3L Force Sensing Stick. -- Deltasim : Force Sensor WH Slew Upgrade -- Mach3Ti Ring : Real Flown Mach 3 SR-71 Titanium, made into an amazing ring. Deano87 Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 ok just found something as well.. The stuttering goes away completely when I hit ESC and the game is paused. The graphics are still being rendered, an i can still move my head around etc, but its perfectly smooth. This suggests to me that its some background code like the FBW system that is eating up the FPS rather than anything graphical. Pure guess though. Proud owner of: PointCTRL VR : Finger Trackers for VR -- Real Simulator : FSSB R3L Force Sensing Stick. -- Deltasim : Force Sensor WH Slew Upgrade -- Mach3Ti Ring : Real Flown Mach 3 SR-71 Titanium, made into an amazing ring. Jansgi Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) I found a fix to my problem. My DCS.exe was in compatibility mode. Disabled it and now I got smooth 60fps again. EDIT. Sometimes when changing servers it starts lagging again. Restarting the game fixes it again.
