KansasCS Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I have had several occasions wherein I had the radar gun pipper dead center on a plane and missed. There is a possibility that the gun line does not account for slip but I wouldn't know.
PiedDroit Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) If your target moves out of path during shell flight they will miss, even if your aim is perfect to begin with ;) You need to aim... In the future!! The piper is only a distance indicator which is placed on the snake (it replaces the wingspan bars when you have radar lock). The snake itself indicates the bullet path if you were firing continuously. It means that if you (and your target) maintain a stable position, this is where the shells will land. However the slightest movement of you or your target will change that impact point (always in motion is the future). The best way to use the sight is to remain stable and try to predict the target's movement, using the piper as reference. edit: so it is best to maneuver in the target's plane of motion to have a minimal target drift.
