Today I learned that DCS exists! Flight sims were my gateway into PC gaming in the early 2000's, but I hadn't seen or heard about any in quite some time, so I was pretty excited when stumbled across DCS. I dusted off my ca. 2002 Gravis joystick (lol) and have strapped my mobile phone to the top of my head (lolol) to provide simple head-tracking, and after cruising around in quick-flight for a while, I'm MASSIVELY impressed by the experience. The simple addition of head tracking is such a game changer, and the graphics... well, it's not 2002 anymore, that's for sure!

I'm having a minor issue, however. I'd like to be able to zoom the view somehow, like this:

However, changing the keybinds in the control settings doesn't seem to be working for me (nor do the default numpad */ binds). When I press the keys, either nothing happens at all, or I see a weird single-frame jump. The control settings are a little overwhelming and there are several "zoom" functions in different categories, so maybe I'm attempting to use the wrong one, but I suspect that my unorthodox head-tracking solution may be partially to blame. My phone can really only track yaw/pitch/roll and can't detect me leaning forward or back, so maybe it's trying to get the value of some nonexistent axis that would normally be there with a TrackIR setup? I'm not really sure how to go about troubleshooting it. Has anyone else had this problem? I scanned through the Controller Walk Through manual, but it doesn't seem to address the issue; at least not directly.

EDIT: Some more information...

There's no axis assigned to zoom in the control settings. If I close OpenTracker and use my mouse to pan around, I can use the mousewheel to zoom. But once I start using my head-tracking software again, the zoom functionality goes away.

I figured out the problem! While there was no axis assignment for Zoom under "General," it was indeed set to TrackIR-Z for the SU-25T. Once I cleared that I was able to set and use custom keybinds to zoom.
