Flagrum Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Counter measures are not released at the proper position on the airframe. If I am not mistaken, flares and chaff should be released from the dispensers at the left and right wing root. Instead the trajectory of flares is to the left. I watched also closely how chaff behaves and it seems to me, that they are also not released from the wing root. Instead, it looks like they are dispensed just below the jet exhaust and, alternating, from within the exaust. This makes me believe that the release points of CM are probably 90 degrees off: instead of alternating left and right, they alternate between "upper" and "lower". Edited January 15, 2016 by Flagrum
Jansgi Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Flare dispenser: Chaff dispenser: Pictures show only the left dispensers, but you do have identicals on the right side. AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT G.Skill 64GB (4 x 16GB) Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600MHz
Flagrum Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 So the flares should be fired in a slight angle, 8 flares a bit to the left and 8 flares a bit to the right. And if we have the Eclair pod installed, then even 16 flares should be fired straight downwards. Correct? Tbh, three different directions might be somewhat overkill - if that is hard to implement, but I would really like to see the ejection direction fixed so that we get alternating "bit to the right and bit to the left".
