CrackerJack Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 This is wrt 2.0 Open Alpha Please check if selecting Nav Modes keyboard 1 turns off your radar. This is what I've noticed. I've confirmed the keyboard commands in the controller settings. Anytime 1 is pressed the radar is also switched off. Thank You Win 10 64-bit, Intel Core i7-7700k@4.2GHz, MSI 1080Ti , 16 GB, 500GB SSD, LG 34UM95, Acer T232HL, TrackIR 5 Pro, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
pr1malr8ge Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) this has always shut down the radar since as long as I can remember.. How ever once you're in nav mode you can turn the radar back on. I would not be surprised if this is true on the real jet.. the Radar on the jet can cause issues with ground based radar and cause injury to personnel/civilians. This would just be a safety issue as nav mode should be selected when landing at all times and if you forget the radar is on switching to nav turns it off. Edited January 20, 2016 by pr1malr8ge For the WIN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]If your desired effect on the target is making the pilot defecate his pants laughing then you can definitely achieve it with a launch like that.
CrackerJack Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Interesting. I thought that this might be a bug. Win 10 64-bit, Intel Core i7-7700k@4.2GHz, MSI 1080Ti , 16 GB, 500GB SSD, LG 34UM95, Acer T232HL, TrackIR 5 Pro, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
Shmick Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I do wish switching from NAV to BVR didn't turn the radar off too, though
blkspade Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I do wish switching from NAV to BVR didn't turn the radar off too, though Well that resets the radar, it doesn't really turn it off. I can see this being frustrating if you bugged targets in NAV mode just to lose them. http://104thphoenix.com/
Shmick Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Quite right - my mistake. I guess it's been a while since I've done that :P
MikeMikeJuliet Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I've built a TARGET script file for the HOTAS Warthog that keeps the radar on. That still doesn't fix the problem of the radar resetting (and thus losing the target), but I feel it makes handling of the aircraft systems a bit better. With the script I actually have a switch to control if the radar should be on or off. Also, feels nice to actually flick a switch to get the radar on and off. Ahh. :D DCS Finland | SF squadron
