bonnbell.net Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Am not in the same league as most folks on this forum but sure hope someone will help this rookie out! I play Birds of Steel and have finally moved up to a brand new WartHog HOTAS. I used the game menus rather than the TARGET software to Map the buttons on the Throttle & Stick. But when I am Mapping the Axis Settings (e.g. for Roll, Pitch, Yaw) there is a 'flickering' event on-screen which causes the Axis numbers to rapidly change. By slowly moving the setting, I can get it to stop flickering at one axis setting & apply that if I act quickly enough. If I disconnect the Throttle's USB cable, this 'flickering' effect disappears & I can make my Stick settings - which all work when I re-connect the Throttle & play the game. In Button Mapping, each of the buttons on the Throttle are recognized when mapped to a function (e.g. Toggle Landing Gear) but do not work when playing the game. The Throttle(s) & Flap (gray) buttons work fine as do the two switches on the back the throttles. Somehow I suspect an electronic malfunction in the Throttle component. I have checked out the USB connections at the console & they seem OK. Appreciate any suggestions on how to diagnose this problem.!
Blackeye Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Might be a hardware issue - see http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96221 Although it was the buttons flickering there, the solution in that case was to rma the thing (post #17)
bonnbell.net Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Thanks for this..identical problem! I have forwarded the info onto Thrustmaster Support & will await their response. Just want to be sure that opening up the throttle won't void the warranty on this brand new device! Appreciate the rapid response!
