Gang,

So I thought I could figure this out on my own but i've been struggling for hours. I just got the X52 Pro today and have been setting up everything in order to play DCS. I managed to download a SU-25T Profile and add that to my profile list in my Saitek presets. When I go onto DCS though I only have basic controls in my joystick. Non of the other buttons are scripted to anything on my HOTAS. Which is weird cause when I bring up the script outside of the game in my profile editor it shows the key binding on the keyboard and on my HOTA and what its binded to. I guess i'm just more confused on how to get a good profile going on DCS so I don't have to pull my hair out more. When I go to controls on DCS and click on the panel for X52 and try to add a script I don't know where to put a .lua file? I thought it was in mods/input/SU-25T/Joystick, but I can load any preset in the game. SOS

Help a brother out please!

Most people avoid using the saitek control software at all costs. Almost all of what it can do can be done directly from the DCS controls configuration. The same goes for TARGET, Thrustmasters joystick config software.

I'm not sure what you mean by "downloaded a profile" For DCS? or for the saitek software? each kind of profile has to be handled differently.

I would try and configure everything you can in DCS, and only use the saitek software for the things that only it can do.

If you set the saitek or thrustmaster config software to use a custom profile to do things, you also need to make sure it's active when DCS is running. It's been a couple year since I messed around with that stuff, but generally it involves selecting the DCS exe file, and checking a box to apply the profile when the software detects the specified exe is running.

There are button maps that people have made, I usually look at one of those maps, and use it as a guide to configure things in DCS, rather than bother with loading someone else's presets into my system.

Good luck!

Practice makes perfect.

Do you have any x52 pro references I could use then? the only confusing aspect of doing that is while your in DCS changing the controls I dont understand the abbreviations or what button is what on my HOTAS.

A "profile" involve to many variables to be "universal" for all player, depends if the guy play more SP or MP, the level of "realism", if want set the HOTAS more close to real thing or just easy game (e.g. some people waste button in joystick grip to control... landing gear).

This can help you know the Su-27 commands and latter set you own "profile":

This is for X-52 PRO, but can be used as reference:
