Mick F Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Anyone have a suggestion for a good bluetooth headset for use with DCS? I use a TrackIR Pro clip and some of the headsets I've looked at online seem to have thick moulded plastic headbands so I don't think the clip would work with them. The plan is to use the TrackIR clip with a portable USB battery source. All advice gratefully received! Edit: Running Windows 10 on the PC.
TomOnSteam Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) These are fantastic (especially if your bluetooth dongle/onboard chip supports Apt-X encoding). http://www.sony.com.au/product/mdr-1rbt Great bass and body, but with excellent clarity as well. You'll be able to make out every little sound that has been recorded for DCS. Hums, rumbles and whistles of the one engine sound :) With great spatial awareness too. It's very impressive when you're starting up your aircraft and something flys past, you can pinpoint it's location even without looking. If your current Bluetooth receiver doesn't support Apt-X, the bluetooth audio sounds probably only as good as radio quality. So it's defintely worth getting even a separate dongle for the sound alone. Something like this will easily do it, and it's nice and small too: http://www.amazon.com/Azio-Micro-Bluetooth-Adapter-BTD-V401/dp/B00JAZGSXY Edited February 10, 2016 by TomOnSteam 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
Mick F Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Nice, looks like they've been replaced by a later model but I'll check it out. Thank you!
