Hi

I am doing the Maple Flag basic campaign and am having an issue for entering Longitude and Latitude.

Steerpoint Dial set to Mission and Page Dial set to Other.

I've watched even a video of someone doing the exact same mission and he is given coordinates of 434319N and 411705E. He enters the first 6 and then tells you to put an extra 0 in front of the latitude to make it 0411705(No letters at all). He then enters elevation and TOT and job done. I've followed those steps exactly and my Waypoint is not where it's supposed to be?

I've watched a 2nd video where the narrator puts a N in front of the first 6 numbers and an E in front of the 2nd so it looked like N434319 and E0411705. If I try and enter it this way the N coordinate is accepted, but not the E as it come sup with a CDE error.

Please help thanks!!

Yes, 8 digits for the E, with a leading zero. I enter the N the E and the Elevation, and a Name. Then I press the ? button to save it. Whenever I get a CDE error I'll press Clear and re-enter the info.

First, make sure you have the rotary switches on the AAP panel set to Mission and Other. Then open the Waypoint page by pressing the WP Function Select Key, and then the LSK labelled Waypoint.

1. Enter the waypoint name you want to create in the data entry line, and push the ? LSK button to enter it.

2. Enter Latitude in the data entry line - making sure you have seven digits, and press the LSK button next to the Northings line in the CDU

3. Enter the Longitude with a leading zero which gives you eight digits, and press the East/Westings LSK on the CDU.

If the numbers are added to the CDU, then you have done the job, and it is just a matter of selecting the waypoint in order to use the co-ordinates.

Have a look at this Video. If the embedded doesn't work then click on the direct link.

I select the X emergency strip at Kobuleti in the F10 Map. Coordinates at the top of the screen are N415033 and E0414752. Dials set to Mission and Other and I create a name called NAV1 for the waypoint. I then enter the 6 digit Lat and 7 digit Lang with no letters. I also put an altitude in for good measure. As you can see in my HUD the WP is miles away in another direction and doesn't even appear on the map. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks again

*Edit*

1. Your map is set for degree, minutes and seconds. The CDU takes it in decimal format. Try and set your map for 'Lat Long decimal' in the options menu under coordinate control.

2. Ok looks like you are trying to edit the current waypoint from this menu. IRRCC you cant. What you should do instead is stay where you are. Type NAV1 then press ?*5 . This way you create a new WP called NAV1. Then enter the coordinates from your map set as Lat Long Decimal.

3. It may just be me but it looks like ýou typing in both set of coordinates in the same line? Northings should be on the line below elevation and Eastings should be below Northings

Cheers

Hans
