Hey folks - getting a bit more involved with the CDU just in time for it to be (most likely) unreadable in the Rift CV1... But regardless I am trying to pass the time =]

So as the title says - is it possible to clone the mission FP on the ground so I can tinker with one and quickly swap back if I screw it up. Can't find it in the manual so I guess not?

Whilst I'm here - how do you delete a point from a flight plan? I forgot to look that up. I constantly mess up when inserting a new point and as such the reason I ask both of the above

Sorry, this is off-topic. But is the CV1 supposed to be that bad? That's disappointing.

As for cloning a FP: Do you mean in the CDU itself? Like the way you can in a commercial liner and just bring up the original? Or similar to company routes or something? I'm not sure about that. I think the mission specific FP is loaded via the data card before each flight. I'm not sure if the A-10C can make a "copy" of the FP, and then store the original and "copy/altered" version at the same time.

Deleting WP's I BELIEVE is another story. I don't know how to do it myself, but I think (and I could very well be wrong) that user-created WP's can be deleted. Otherwise, you'll just have to add the correct version after it, and skip the bad steerpoint manually.

ASUS Sabertooth P67 :: Intel i5-2500 3.0 GHz :: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 :: 16 GB DDR3 RAM :: Crucial 240 GB SSD :: WD Black 2TB HD :: 50" Magnavox TV as monitor :: TrackIR 5 :: Saitek X52 :: Saitek Rudder Pedals

I was hoping you'd be able to take the mission plan that's been loaded in and then copy it as FP2.. that way you can just switch back to default when you muck about too much and can't get back to original state.

As for skipping the bad steerpoint.. that's what I've been doing. I've been playing the DLC campaign and you're constantly bombarded with new target grid references to dial in. I find myself just using a new WP and inserting it after an appropriate mission WP for my IP. But I'd like to be able to delete it again so I can clean up the TAD. I'll have a good look through the manual tomorrow and teach myself unless someone is nice enough to give me a hint before then :)

RE: Oculus CV1... I used to own the DK2 and the text was illegible on the HUD and most of the switches without moving your face in. The CV1 has a slightly higher resolution and reduced screen door + better lenses... So who knows? Based on resolution alone though I'm not confident it will be good enough yet. I did spot Wags posting on a VR forum though with a very promising little line regarding VR in DCS! So it WILL come! One day! Maybe now or maybe when they develop higher resolution tiny screens and NVidia's Pascal can push all those extra pixels. Regardless - I'll enjoy the CV1 :)
