  1. I'm only asking because at some point in the future I'd like to build all the panels for the A-10C. Backlit, proper dials, altimeter, MFD's, etc. I see that without the proper equipment to make it look nice (CNC machine, etc.) it will probably takes years and probably a few thousand $$$ US, if not more. But thank you all for the information.
  2. I see there are threads here on many various things. CNT, etc. But for someone starting from scratch, how you one create all the panels (nevermind the electronics experience) and get everything to connect to the PC? What type of board/connection is required to get it all to route into the computer running DCS? Would it be a complicated programming-intensive job to make that happen? I know NOTHING about programming. And I don't intend to build my own A10C simpit anywhere in the near future. But I see I see plenty of YT videos where have achieved it. I I guess I just don't undrstand the logistics of it all. The programming, the linking everything together, the panel builds themselvess... I'm not asking for links to tutorials. Just a quick rundown of how it happens and then comes together. Please?
  3. Thanks guys! I thought so. Much thanks for doing that for us!
  4. Hey BD, I was reading the beginning of this thread (and I know it's quite old on page 1), but it mentions having to flip the wind direction for entering in the CDU. However, I know that your FRAGO's/briefings say "CDU Ready". I'm assuming this means that we don't need to do any mental math when entering the winds, correct? Up to this point, I've just been entering the values you've provided and my boom sticks have been deadly accurate. I just wanted to confirm that either the issue within DCS itself has been fixed, or you've already done the ME-to-CDU conversion values for us. Sorry, I hope that makes sense. Once again, I'm typing away furiously while at work ha.
  5. I've managed to increase my luck (greatly) in spotting targets by adjusting the gain, as well as the LVL setting on the TGP. I've found that by setting the gain to 5 or 6, then messing with the level (usually notching it up once or twice), it really helps bring out the targets against the terrain. Don't forget guys, while this may be slightly bugged, when the Hawgs are searching IRL, it isn't completely and effortlessly easy. Give ED time and hopefully they'll work on it making it a little easier for us. Until then, I'm quite happy using the method described above to find targets. As for the drawing fire, I believe it's referred to as "Wild Weasel". One plane flies low and fast hoping to draw tracers while another orbits above looking for source of said tracers. That source typically doesn't maintain a heartbeat for much longer after that.
  6. Can you right-click, save image, and then just print it out full-sized? I'm not sure if it would lose the high-res fidelity doing that. Just my first thought that came to mind. EDIT: I just tried it myself. When printed on 8.5x11 paper, the image doesn't "quite" fit perfectly so I had to use the "fit to page" option. When it printed, it wasn't exactly the greatest, sharpest image. For me, it would work. It looks okay, but it doesn't have that super-high quality/fidelity that the original image has. It probably has to do with the original picture size and then trying to blow it up to fit on a 8.5x11 piece of paper. I believe these are the image parameters: 226 × 322 pixels (Natural: 350 × 500 pixels), according to the "Inspect" option when right-clicking the image and hovering over the code relating to the picture. So it appears that while it looks great at the size on the store page and the image you posted, trying to blow it up to a full page makes it lose quality simply because the resolution is too low to keep the fidelity at larger sizes. Check the attachment below to see what I mean.
  7. Just thought I'd chime in and confirm that I've also seen the debrief bug. I specifically remember it being on this mission, but I'm vaguely sure that I've seen it in other missions too. Not many, maybe 1 or 2 others. But I'm not sure which. I'm currently replaying the entire campaign (3rd time!) so if I notice it anywhere else, I'll let you know, BD.
  8. For me, spray and pray. Just litter the area with rounds and get lucky? I actually think I started my run in, fire off a short burst, looked for the impact and then adjusted the target in relation to visible HUD items to get closer hits.
  9. Yeah I posted about this a while back. I tried like 6 or 7 times (it feels like) where I'd roll about 10 feet and then take a direct it. Eventually, I just decided to light the fires and get moving. I did some (interesting) no-gun-sight gun runs and managed to kill a few things. The campaign proceeded so I assumed I did well enough. I do remember that at some point I took a pretty big hit from something, The ATC voiceover tells you to divert to some other airfield since there's a smoking crater and burning A-10 in the middle of the runway. I decided "to hell with that" and put it down on her belly and managed to slide right past the wreckage. I was anxiously hovering over CTRL-E with one hand the whole time haha.
  10. Sorry, this is off-topic. But is the CV1 supposed to be that bad? That's disappointing. As for cloning a FP: Do you mean in the CDU itself? Like the way you can in a commercial liner and just bring up the original? Or similar to company routes or something? I'm not sure about that. I think the mission specific FP is loaded via the data card before each flight. I'm not sure if the A-10C can make a "copy" of the FP, and then store the original and "copy/altered" version at the same time. Deleting WP's I BELIEVE is another story. I don't know how to do it myself, but I think (and I could very well be wrong) that user-created WP's can be deleted. Otherwise, you'll just have to add the correct version after it, and skip the bad steerpoint manually.
  11. It was something on my end. Somehow, in the end, I got it working and showing up in the options. Now, if it is due to JSGME, I'm not sure. I uninstalled it, then re-installed and went through the whole process again. THEN, I went into the actual Ricacdo mod folder and actually copied the folder structure into the DCS WorldBeta aircraft/A-10C/liveries/whatever (or whatever the path was. I forget.) But in the end, the option was there and it works beautifully. So I'm not sure which approach solved the problem. I just know it's solved. So I'm happy for now. If I run into other issues down the road, I'll be back. Thank you.
  12. Hey fellahs, I've got an issue. I downloaded this mod, un-zipped it, then chose it using the JSGME. However, when I go into the settings in DCS 1.5.3, the only cockpit option is "Generic" or whatever the standard is. I've also tried placing the files myself (admittedly, I may not have moved them to the right spot(s)). But no matter what I try, I cannot get this mod to show in-game. Any help or instructions/guidance please?
  13. Ha. Sorry guys. I butchered it twice. And I hate to ask again, but does anyone know if there are any currently working Sabre campaigns for 1.5.3? And period units? Or do I just need to research which ground units were used in Korea, then use them and create my own missions?
  14. We can I find period ground units for the Sabre? And are any campaigns working in 1.5 at the moment? I've never used JGSME (Did I acronym that right?) but I think if it's easy to understand and use, I'd be all for it to install period units and the like. EDIT: Nope. I botched it. JSMGE
