Redglyph Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Hello, I just bought and installed the Fw 190 in 1.5.3.50487.22, and activated it. I don't see the aircraft in the Campaign menu, though I see there are campaign files in the module directory. The training, instant mission and missions are visible, just not the campaign since the Fw 190 is not in the list. I also installed in in 2.0.1 (2.0.1.50747.33). There I can see the Fw 190 in the campaign aircraft list, but it's empty since (I suppose) the campaign is for the Caucasian terrain. The other modules are visible normally in 1.5.3. Did someone else have this problem? Is there a way to work around this and make a specific version of DCS aware it should look for campaign aircraft (or training, for the other L-39 bug)? Any help appreciated :) Edited February 28, 2016 by Redglyph System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
NeilWillis Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 It is a strange behaviour indeed. I can see missions within the mods/aircraft/FW-190D9/missions/campaigns folder, so I should see a campaign option in the GUI, but it is missing. It is probably a file structure change that is causing it, but I can't see the solution. You can access the missions singly using the missions browser though. Without knowing how the new file structure works, I don't know how to resolve it.
Redglyph Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) I have found out, after a bit of looking into the files. You're not far from the truth, NeilWillis :) The Campaigns directory was incorrectly in Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Missions instead of Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Missions\EN, and in the Fw 190D-9 Challenge Campaign.cmp file, I found lines like directory = "C:\\Program Files\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World\\mods\\aircrafts\\FW-190D9\\Missions\\en\\Campaigns\\", Now I'm not sure why they store absolute paths that are bound to be wrong, my guess is that they're either ignored, or made relative at run-time. But seeing the hint here, and given that all the other campaigns are under the EN subdirectory, I have moved it there and now I can see it! So if anyone wants to run the challenge campaign for the Dora in 1.5.3, just move this directory Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Missions\Campaigns to Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Missions\EN\Campaigns (you have to create the Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Missions\EN directory) Edited February 28, 2016 by Redglyph wrong directory name System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
