Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 about 80% overclock !!!

Boosting the processor with 1.6 Volts, MCH and FSB voltage up by + 0.35 Volts, we overclocked the 1.86GHz processor to 3.36Ghz with the PSB running at a whopping 1920MHz using a 480MHz x 7 FSB to CPU multiplier ratio.

Pretty impressive!

Getting a budget (overclocked) CPU to outperform the FX-62, FX-57, and EE965 (even when they are overclocked) is something special.

That's not a huge improvement, at least at stock . That said, a decet overclock on a 6600 (3.2ghz or so) should be decently faster than my opteron170 @2.8

 

Even at 1600x1200, a resolution where you’d expect to be GPU-bound

 

They screwed up the review though, LOCKON is STILL NOT GPU BOUND @ 1600x1200 as long as you have a semi-decent GPU.

 

I get the same framerates @ 1600x1200 with AA and AF on, as I do with them off, also, changing the resolution has almost NO impact, thus it's NOT GPU bound, but CPU BOUND.

 

PS: I wish they had higher resolutions for the test, as 1600x1200 is kinda low these days (for what GPU's are capable today)

Why are they not compared directly with Benchmarks anywhere?
