JakeRS Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Hi everyone, I am from Serbia and when in 1999 NATO bombed Serbia, the only place that was bombed in my city, Subotica, was a big TV mast (218 meters high) , NATO even published the footage of the bombing, so I was wondering could anyone guess what plane was used for this or maybe even which bombs? My knowledge about planes, bombs, etc. is minimal, so I can't make even a wild guess, but maybe someone here could. Here's a list of some of the planes that were used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_Yugoslavia#NATO_forces
DarkFire Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Welcome to the forum :) That looked like a laser-guided bomb strike, so it was probably one of the following: If it was early in the conflict then probably an F-117 If it was later in the conflict it could have been a CF-18, a Harrier GR7 or a Tornado. The bomb was probably one of the GBU series of laser guided bombs. JakeRS Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Thanks :) It was on 1. May I think and the bombing started on 24. March, so it was later, a F-117 was actually shot down in the start of the war, on 27. March https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_F-117A_shootdown , so they were definitely used in the start at least, but I don't know about later. What is the difference between CF-18 and a regular F-18? Judging by the name I'd guess that it is a canadian version or something, but I may be wrong.
Aginor Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 You are right, CF-18 is the canadian version. :) DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
