Rlaxoxo Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Is this intended? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Rlaxoxo Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) Yep, you need to apply forward pressure to maintain less than 1g in slow speed, as there is a blending factor that makes the aircraft want to maintain 1g. It was doing this correctly in the g-command and pitch command modes (higher speeds) but I suspect you're seeing this new behavior in slow flight where this was corrected. It happens no matter what speed I'm going are we talking mach 2+ here? ___ Alot of things feels weird for example if you pitch up 90 degrees you have to pull significant amount of forward stick in order to keep the plane flying up and not looping around. When the mirage is accelerating from the low speed it keeps going up and sometimes it's extremely hard to pull down on the stick in order to stay leveled Dunno feels really odd Edited March 11, 2016 by Rlaxoxo [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Rlaxoxo Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Yes, all speeds Prior to this patch, all speeds above roughly 325 knots (assuming near surface) you would have this behavior (AKA no change at all in this patch). After this patch all speeds now correctly have this behavior (AKA change in this patch for low speed control) If you have another DCS installation, try it out and you'll see the difference to see how it was before. Well, I Fly the Mirage pretty much every day on 2.0 and 1.5 so I know how it feels, and right now it has a weird felling where I spend most of my time just pushing full forward stick when I want to keep mirage in a zoom climb or when I'm at low speed it wants to go up for some reason like really violently. Dunno think I need some time to get used to the changes I guess [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Rlaxoxo Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) Yeah I know how much you fly the M2000C :) Basically above ~325 KCAS (at sea level and standard day...it's really dictated by dynamic pressure) you should notice 0 changes from previous updates unless I screwed something (which is possible) up so I'll reevaluate it and might PM you at some point for some more details to make sure I'm not missing anything. EDIT: Okay I did screw up and see what it is, once again good find Rlaxoxo, thanks Cool To recap, The turning has been redone nicely it feels really good in turns and overall normal flight. But now if you for example take off the plane will pitch up by it self really hard and you have to keep a significant force on forward stick to keep it leveled for some time until you reach certain speeds. Feels awkward you don't have to do that in almost any aircraft Second so far that I've noticed is that when you go up a certain degrees in a climb your aircraft start pulling up for some reason like he thinks it's inverted and pulls down like that imo. And Maybe ... just maybe (Not sure about this) I think now we have to use more force to the forward stick to push the aircraft down then before but I'm not sure with this. Also when I'm going Mach 2+ and I go inverted my plane just starts falling down to a point where I have to push full forward stick just to keep level. From what I understand from your explanation that this shouldn't really happen at high speed but at low speed it makes sense to be happening. All in all that's what I've noticed from this patch. Thanks for checking my findings so quickly you guys are awesome : ) Edited March 12, 2016 by Rlaxoxo [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
TomCatMucDe Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 i flew the Mirage today first time after the patch, and I wanted to report this as well. Thanks for the report!
tkid Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I can agree on the takeoff part, when taking off my plane just shot right up I though I did something wrong. Also the same happens when landing the plane wants to nose up quite hard
