Always looking to improve my flight sim rig, I've been eye-ing Thrustmaster's Cougar MFDs. If I got them however, space on my desk is pretty tight, I'm not sure I'd have the room to put them there.

Naturally, I looked to my new 27 inch beast of a monitor, and figured why not stick them on there? I could export the MFD screens to the corners of my display and stick the MFD frames on my monitor, Ideally with some kind of hinge or Quick detach mount to move them out of the way when not in use.

I looked up the dimensions of the MFDs and cut out some paper according to the size. Taped them on and did a quick flight in the A-10 to see how It looked with that screen space taken up. I attached the image below. (Sorry for crap picture quality, forgot to clean my phone lens.)

So what do you guys think? Any tips?

Should be a fun little project for me to figure out.

You will find that they take up more room than you think. I suggest a small second monitor. This will start you down the road to start simpit building. And the road never ends. I just did my 3rd major change to my pit. You can see how I mounted my MFCD's in the third or 4th post.

Hi Mtnbiker1998

I used a cheap 19 inch monitor that I got from a charity shop to stick my MFD's to. I used double sided sticky tape. I made it a bit more interesting by cutting out a panel from some MFD wood and fitting over the monitor. Added a little keyboard, a landing gear switch and a home made UFC.

See here for an earlier posting with a couple of photos. Its quite simple (apart from the UFC) and cheap to do and looks ok.
