FlightControl Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The AI taxiing coordination at airports at the Caucasus area is having still problems in 1.5.3. Find the attached mission. Run it and speed up the time lapsing with the right shortcut key. (For me it is CTRL-W on an azerty keyboard). Ensure you see the airport Kobuleti. 8 planes are spawned, will fly around and will respawn once landed. 4 of them at the landing event and 4 of them at engine shutdown. Observe the behaviour. Problems start when planes are "blocking" each other. Meaning: 1. They are travelling in opposite directions on the same road in the airport. 2. They are awaiting to take-off from 2 separate roads facing each other near the start of the runway at the same time... My obeservations are as follows: 1. If 2 airplanes are taxiing to take-off, and they are blocking each other, they will keep endlessly waiting. The problem with this scenario is that no other plane will be landing anymore at the airport. 2. If x airplanes are taxiing after landing to his home ramp, and the other is taxiing to take-off, and they are blocking each other, the AI units which just landed are automatically REMOVED. The problem with this scenario is that there is NO EVENT generated within the DCS simulator of this deletion. No ENGINE_SHUTDOWN event, No CRASH, nothing ... Not sure if DCS will do something about this, but it is worth to mention I guess. Maybe this problem is already known, and if it is, well, then it may be a kind reminder of this problem. Stonehouse Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I've noticed at Beslan that on the NW parking points that if you place aircraft you need to be careful where you put #1 of the group as they begin to taxi from #1 through to #4. So for instance if you put #1 on the most NW point with the others in the group on the adjacent points and the wind is such that they want to taxi to the SE end of the runway the plane will start to taxi but then stop because of the other group members are in the way. There are marked (painted) taxi paths around these blocking points but the AI pilot doesn't use them so perhaps they are not mapped or have a mapping issue.
FlightControl Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 Yep. I've seen this also. Annoying.
