External Zoom T.Flight Hotas X

I have the RZ (?) axis on my Hotas X mapped to the external zoom function. That's the "left /right" control on the forward face of the throttle. Works good except when I zoom in, then release the zoom, it will not return to the view that was set before zooming; it will stay slightly zoomed in. Any ideas how to mitigate that, or is there a better way to map and use external zoom?

This axis have a spring that return the potentiometer for ~50% of axis course, so the ZOOM will reset for this value, not for previous before apply ZOOM.

That explains the why...although, for the life of me, I can't imagine why that is.

 

I'm going to have to revisit this.
