zaGURUinzaSKY Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I 'm tweaking Windows with TuneUp Utilities 2006 (really great software), and there is an option about QoS, it says: " The QoS service reserves bandwidth for important packets when necessary". I can choose to reserve xxx% of bandwidth or not. Is this option usefull if I host a mission in lock on ? Thanx! Robbie.
Ardillita Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 If you host a mission, you should not be running other programs. The QoS is part of the TCP arquitechture, it marqs packets with different levels os importance (1,2,3,4,5...). This way, you OS, and routers recognice the importance of that packets and let them pass first that others or not, depending on how "important" you told your OS they are. So, I don´t know the software you mention, but if that prog let you reserve some % of your bandwith to be use by lomac, it is useless, since if you are not useing internet for nothing else than lomac, so there is no other traffic than lomac internet traffic.
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 I see, thanx a lot for your reply. I only host lockon and connect as client to a Ventrilo's server. Robbie.
