bunraku Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Hi Just reinstalled my HOTAS Warthog and was wondering what are everyone's preferred deadzones, curves and saturation settings? Thanks
Reksi-Erkki Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Mine are the defaults (linear, 100% range) for everything except the Gazelle. She's so very very sensitive (in the open Alpha, at least), that I had to reduce the range (to 70%, I think), and apply a bit of nonlinearity (16?) for both X and Y. I have a 100mm extension for the stick, and it sure helps a lot with the helos. Dear Shilka. I hate you so very very much. Love, Rex
firmek Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I would also run it with stock settings. IMO changing curvatures or saturation makes it difficult to build up a muscle memory. Also it affects performance of the aircraft in a way that it's no longer as designed by the developers with aim to reflect the reality. I don't have the Gazelle but the only one exception for me was Mig-21 where I've setup the curves as specified in the manual. Setting the dead zones should only be needed when the equipment is providing input when in neutral position. With TM warthog it's enough to check the "enable hardware deadzone" in TARGET joystick options and leave the deadzones disabled (set to 0) in the sim. F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all
