RPM "Hiccup" while Advancing Throttle

Hey Guys,

 

Just a question, i've noticed that when advancing throttles of the F-5 from IDLE to Military or even afterburner, like say on takeoff, maybe about half-way up, the RPM drops a bit (like a hiccup) then continues on to military power then afterburner.

 

I'm just curious what this "hiccup" is. I've been reading the manual and somewhere it states that there's an anti compressor stall measure in the engines, though i'm not sure if this is it. Anybody know?
