ThePutzer Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Several F-86 pilots, have reported that even when they set radio to proper channel, (Easy Radio turned OFF), they get no drop down,to chose, awac, picture, boggy dope etc.. nothing..\I know that in the F-5, nose steering becomes Comm channel activaor..after in air.. Is there a way to activate?? that comm menu?? in Sabre when not in easymode?? ThePutzer I tell the guys to use awac and now, they cant, dang!!
Buzzles Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Have you bound the PTT button on the throttle to a button? Non-easy comms works fine for me with the Sabre. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
ThePutzer Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Question is the answer ?? Is this your way of stating that the "\" will not function in air and that the "ptt" is either the Default key to enable drop down. Or it needs to be bound?? It seems every aircraft is diff.. I am asking for the guys flying the F-86. I am not.. It works in Mirage and the Tiger (nose wheel steering button becomes comm), for me.. Trying to find out 4 others..
Buzzles Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) In the Tiger, the NWS button in the air is an alternative button for the PTT on the throttle. For the Sabre, yes, you need to bind the actual PTT (throttle mic) to a button on your joystick. The default keypress for it is "right-a+t + \". If that doesn't work, bind "communication menu" which is 'left control + \' to your joystick instead. The Sabre is quite interesting. Normal '\' is used to communicate to the ground crew when the canopy is open, and the throttle mic is used for actual radio coms. Binding PTT/Throttle Mic is pretty standard accross all the DCS modules when not using easy comms. Edited August 7, 2016 by Buzzles Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
