AstroEma Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hi all, I never had a single problem with DCS and the Vive, and never had to run SteamVR before starting DCS. But since the last update, even if the VR option in DCS is enabled, it won't start in VR mode. I need to actually launch SteamVR and then launch DCS. This causes a huge drop in FPS. (was running everything on max setting and maintain 35-45fps before the last patch) Anyone else having this problem? Cheers, e. AstroEma Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 ah. probably should opt out of Steam VR? Do you run both? Kaby Lake @ 4.6Ghz - Gigabyte Z170-D3H - 16Gb DDR4 - Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 OC - Samsung EVO 250Gb SSD - Seagate 1 Tb HDD - HTC Vive - Rift CV1
M1Combat Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I just tested the Beta Steam VR and I believe it does improve framerate... At least in the KA50... Nvidia RTX3080 (HP Reverb), AMD 3800x Asus Prime X570P, 64GB G-Skill RipJaw 3600 Saitek X-65F and Fanatec Club-Sport Pedals (Using VJoy and Gremlin to remap Throttle and Clutch into a Rudder axis)
