minar Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Am I the only one that finds it ridiculous that we cannot use the full amount of our accumulated bonus ponits to go towards the payment of a DCS product? For instance I try to buy an item with $12.00 in points and yet it only allows $3.00 to be used. "Your bonus account balance $12.00, You can use $3.00 to pay current order." For as much as we pay for these products, you would think DCS would allow us to use all of it.
Flagrum Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 ED offers you a discount, voluntarily and unsolicited, and you are unhappy with it. To make you happy, ED should offer you MORE discount, up to 100% (i.e. use as much bonus points as you see fit - and if 100% of the purchase price seems to be juuuust right, then that is what you want). Hrm. Interesting point of view ... In all seriousness, the bonus point concept implemented by ED has some quirks, but as it is completely voluntarily by ED, how could we possibly demand ... well, anything in this case?
cichlidfan Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 For as much as we pay for these products, you would think DCS would allow us to use all of it. Well, for example, if my local baseball team wins, Papa Johns gives me 50% off my order. Pizza isn't cheap, so I would be happier with 75% off but it's not my company so my opinion doesn't have much weight. Same situation here. They didn't have to offer you any discount. Rangi Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 ;) If we could use 110% of our bonus, ED would have to pay us for taking a module... ;) PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
NeilWillis Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I'm all in favour of free modules! ED may not be quite so keen however. But it is a nice idea. On the other hand, the bonus scheme isn't the only discounting available to you. Just about every weekend newsletter comes with a special discount offer, and there are also regular holiday discount schemes. I have loads of bonus points, simply because I like buying modules. Sometimes I get to use the bonus points, sometimes I don't. I never lose sleep over that. One other little snippet to bear in mind is that the biggest update we will see in the second half of the year will be free, so it isn't really a problem to have bonus points you will not be able to spend. Just add them to your overall wealth, a bit like all that foreign currency coinage you have in your sock drawer after your vacations, and feel rich!
minar Posted August 26, 2016 Author Posted August 26, 2016 Its hilarious how you rush to the defense claiming Im somehow asking for something for free. Fact of the matter is I own 7 modules and we should be able to use the full amount of accumulated points on a purchase. For as little as we get per module we buy its not like they would be losing anything.
agentdarnell Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Buy a more expensive module and you can use more. I think we can use a total of 30% towards a module. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Or maybe some people find your phrasing a little excessive - which is not hilarious at all, but just a little sad ?
