The MiG-21bis initializes the pitch trim position in all spawn conditions (takeoff, ramp hot, ramp cold, airborne, day, night, etc.) in the central position (diamond at the crosshairs of the control indicator diagram).

In the case of airborne spawn, this pitch trim value in many cases does not correspond to the trim for level flight. Typically and especially with the default values when first created the initial tendency is for an undesirable strong pitch down tendency. The resulting reduced load factor may even contribute to engine flameout.

Most mature DCS modules (e.g. A-10C) use some method to closely approximate and set the required trim(s) required for level flight at the given initial conditions. I'm not aware of the best method to arrive at this input given the various relevant factors (speed, altitude, GW, load, etc.) but any attempt at even crude pitch trim settings appropriate for the conditions added by the developers would be greatly appreciated.
