minimi66 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Hi, Feel like a total noob posting this (i'm not by the way!) but i can not seem to get comms with the Kutaisi tower on Mission One "The AO" to initiate start up, tai etc? Never had this problem before and been playing the sim since the Su-27 Flanker/Lock On days. Have read and re-read all manual chapters on comms and radios etc. and have done the same with mission briefings. Have powered up the aircraft and gone through start up sequence to the letter and also used the Auto Start Up cheat to ensure i didn't miss anything. Brief says Kutaisi Tower is on 134.00 MHZ on VHF AM so AN/ARC-186(V) VHF AM Radio. That radio is on 135.00 MHZ by default on mission start so i'm dialling it back to 134, hitting the Load button and then using the comms menu's to call the tower etc. Can't find any reference to the tower freq. being a pre-set channel but i've tried pre-sets as well with no luck? Frequency Mode Dial is on TR and Frequency Selection Dial is MAN. Have tried Easy Communications checked and un-checked in DCS Settings Gameplay. What am i missing guys? Tried the mission 4-5 times but can't get off the apron at the moment?? Lol!! Not seen anyone else on the forum getting this problem so it must be just me? Thanks. =Panther= Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Mic Switch FWD is used to communicate on the VHF AM Radio, ensure you are using the correct mic switch otherwise it won't work. Don't have easy communications enabled either, as there is an issue with it as well. You shouldn't need to press LOAD when using manual frequency. That is used when loading presets. Double check your mic switch, I'm willing to bet you are using wrong one. PS you don't really need to ask for tower, not like the AI tower is smart of anything. ;) Twitch Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Thunderbirds, LLC | Sponsored by Thrustmaster Z390 Aorus Xtreme, i9 9900k, G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB, 1080ti 11GB, Obutto R3Volution, Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog, TPR, Cougar MFDs, FSSB R3L, JetSeat, Oculus Rift S, Buddy-Fox A-10C UFC, F/A-18C UFC, Tek Creations F-16 ICP
Ranger79 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Rehtnap is correct regarding using the mic switch FWD, once the updated campaign files are released (hopefully today), you can use easy radio in the campaign if you want. minimi66 Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Yeah probably Mic switch then? Hi fellas, Yeah i'm sure you're right, my mic switch is set up for the A-10C default Voice Attack profile at the moment but i've stopped using VA as it just doesn't respond enough times or accurately enough for my liking. Even after several weeks of persevering with it. So i will re-map the mic switch keys to the default HOTAS buttons on the Warthog throttle and that should do the trick? And yeah, i get the one about the tower being ear candy and nothing more, was just trying to "play the game" by the rules as it were. Appreciate the help guys. Hopefully i can get off the ground now.....sheesh!!! Lol!! Just turn it on in your options before starting the mission. Enjoy. Comrade Vodka Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Hi all,......an interesting post for me. I too feel like a 'noob' after just purchasing this campaign (looks great by the way) I cant get off the apron at the moment either,...lol. Well I could, ...but only by myself. I don't have the above problems with radio's and calling tower, I just cannot get my wingmen to spark up their APU's and engines. What on earth do I need to do to get their arses in gear? ....ha ha ha. They are just sitting there, although I've done all the correct sequence of radio requests etc to tower, and got response. When will they get cracking? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :pilotfly:
Comrade Vodka Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Ok, just caught up with another thread that says this is a known and reported bug. I'll sit tight and wait for it to be resolved. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :pilotfly:
