For the first time I found I had to use my Warthog throttle to get the in-sim throttle working.

I had to lift it and pull it back, into the 'off' position.

When I put it forward to 'idle', both engines started themselves, with no further action from me. Right first, then left.

Is this new, or has it been included for a long time? I'm still writing checklists and guides using the original engines start switch method (left then right) - but it looks like this only applies to peeps without the Hog throttle?

Coupling the Warthog controller OFF and IDLE positions to the DCS airplane throttle OFF and IDLE positions has been a feature since their introduction. Initial synchronization of the controls has been hit and miss.

I have heard of people being able to set both throttles to idle simultaneously and get both to start which is against what I learned early on as that would prevent either engine from starting.

I'll try it next opportunity.

Well it's working fine for me now - another two start-ups and just needed moving the throttle (actual HOTAS) from the rear raised off position into idle and both engines started up fine - again, right first, then left.

I think I'll write that into the KIF etc - if I had used it at some time, I had certainly forgotten about it in the interim, so it's quite possible there are people who are unaware (or new to the plane).
