OneStooge Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Hi, been reading these forums for a while but registered today when I reached the limits of my wits. Here's the issue: I have BS2 (Steam) and a Saitek X52 Pro/pedals combo. I like to think I know how to use Saitek's own software after using their products for a couple of decades but who can tell, perhaps I am a newbie there. In the sim's keybinding, I first set up: Launch Weapons - L.Shift + R. Shift + Space Fire Gun - Space Gun/Weapons Trigger switch - L.Shift + R. Shift + G In the stick software, in mode 1, I set Trigger 1 - L.Shift + R. Shift + Space (in advanced mode, keeping the keys pressed as long as the trigger is pressed) Trigger 2 - Space (tried both simple and advanced mode) Launch - L.Shift + R.Shift + G (simple mode) The Launch and Trigger 1 work like a charm but trigger 2 gives no respons, even with the gun switch activated in the sim. The throttle MFD shows "Gun Fire" whenever I press trigger 2 but nothing happens. If I assign button 15 (trigger 2) to gun in the sim key binding, it works but only if I go to mode 2 where trigger 1 and 2 are left blank in the profiler. The gun responds to pressing space. After considering that perhaps the shift keys for launch perhaps interfered, I changed Launch to Z in keybinding and also changed it in the profile. Same result. I can not get trigger 2 to report in correctly when in mode 1. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how to solve it? I REALLY want to have the profile do the work as I plan on using the triggers in the other modes. Still, why it won't work in mode 1 is wel beyond me. [EDIT] Solved: Turned out I was 1: Not paying enough attention and 2) Any shift states for functions bound to trigger 1 carry over to trigger 2 or so it appears. Solution: Rebound Weapon Launch to Z in the game key binding and gun to space. Bound trigger 1 to Z in the software (advanced mode) Bound trigger to to space (simple mode although I guess adv mode won't do much difference). The gun fires when supposed to now and so do weapons. Isegrim Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 I have a X52-pro aswell +pedals I never used the SST Software. in my opinion its scrapy software and really not needed. You should think about setting up everything ingame. "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom

You should think about setting up everything ingame. If that's your experience with it, then I'm sorry to hear that but here it's been working fairly well since my X45 days. Sure, things can always improve, I suppose but so far, it's been quite useful to me. Anyway, as I stated, I really want to use the software to handle the functions as I plan on using multiple modes so using the game keybinding is not an option I'm afraid.
Isegrim Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Maybe an key conflict or otherwise but i personaly cant help here further exept to hope best for you. "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
HELLIART Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Solved. Solution in OP. Hi, can you provide a link to the solution you found or offer some insight? I enjou the F15-C and have the X52 also, I use the softwear and my 3 modes are take off, in flight and landing with a number of commands for each. My Problem with the Duel stage trigger is i have weapon release (missles) in the 1st stage and fire weapons (Cannon) on the 2nd. During combat if I switch to cannon and use it with missles left on board it will fire them also. And if I switch the assignments the Cannon wile fire when useing the missles. I like having them both on the trigger but cant for the life of me get them set up to work on their own.

I like having them both on the trigger but cant for the life of me get them set up to work on their own. I don't know about the F15 but the Shark has a trigger switch that makes it impossible to fire both guns and missiles at the same time. That makes it possible for me to have both triggers in use. Unfortunately, on the X52 trigger 2 is not possible to reach without going through trigger 1, as you have found out. Only way I can think of right now that would allow separate triggers for each weapon is to set up another mode so that for example mode 1 would be guns only, and mode 2 would be missiles only. Remember that you could in principle have more modes set up than there are buttons on the stick. You don't have to use the wheel to change modes. Anyway, for my solution as found in the first post: Rebound Weapon Launch to Z in the game key binding and gun to space. Bound trigger 1 to Z in the software (advanced mode) Bound trigger to to space (simple mode although I guess adv mode won't do much difference). The key idea is the software-sim combo doesn't like shift states for trigger 1 functions (for example shift z for fireing missiles) if trigger 2 is bound to an unhifted command, as the shift keypress on trigger 1 tend to carry over to trigger 2.

You should think about setting up everything ingame. I concur with Isegrim. I had an X52, then a Pro, Now I have an X55. I used to use SST, I had it set up so that when i pulled stage 1, it fired from the pylons, and stage 2 automatically switched to guns and fired. This worked briefly, but started causing massive framerate problems, would drop to 1-3 FPS every time i tried to fire guns. wiped it out and never looked back. With the X55, I have a profile i manually edited in notepad++ to remove all shift-state and switch modes. I bind everything inside DCS, including shift states and the switch knob. No more SST problems.
