Typhoon9 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Hello all, I´m trying to follow the different procedures for engine restart in flight. Always starting the procedure with Engine off and low RPM: - Windmilling: THR idle, Airspeed 450km/h and above 15% rpm, then press ENGINE P/B. It works! (sometimes I need to push more than one time the ENGINE P/B) -APU Start assisted: THR stop, Press Turbo (inside APU envelope, 260 to 350 km/h and below 6000ft) but TURBO light is switching off or flashing. Sometimes I get a fixed light, but when I try to start, APU switched off. I`m observing that this has a high demand of the electric system (Amperes and Volts are oscillating when APU is starting and switching off). This is not always, but like 70% of times. Why? (I try to give 30sec. between each APU start). Thank you for helping! Typhoon 69th Virtual Squadron
-Martin- Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Dear Typhoon, I have tried to replicate the problem as you have described it but without success. I have even tried to deplete my battery by turning all the electric devices on, turning the emergency generator off, and repeatedly switching APU on and off, but I have never seen the APU light to flash. Furthermore, subsequently I was able to start the engine. I presume that you have tried the opposite actions to remedy your voltage issue too without effect. On the other hand, I once managed to get into a situation when I could not restart the engine at all, albeit it did not appear to be an APU related problem. Sorry for not being very helpful. I tested both hot and cold start L-39ZA and hot start L-39C in DCS 1.5.5 on Steam. Martin
