Badger633 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I have been making some simple navigation missions for the mirage in dcs 2 in winter heavy snow conditions. I found that I was getting a memory crash each time. Tried same sort of mission in dcs 1.5 with mirage no problem. Went back to dcs 2 same memory crashes with mirage. Did same mission with A10 c in dcs 2 no problem. Is this behaviour familiar to anyone. i7 gtx 1080 16gb ram F/A-18C Campaigns : The Serpent’s Head / The Serpent’s Head 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5.0Ghz / Gigabyte 2080ti water force extreme / 32 Gb RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600 / 2Tb Samsung 970 Evoplus NVMe M.2 / Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas / Thrustmaster Pedals / Valve Index.
NeilWillis Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Not had any issues here Glyn. It might be a good idea to uninstall/reinstall the mirage if it seems to be isolated to that. Next step would be to re-name your saved games folder for 2.0 and it'll be re-created when you start the game again. You can then just copy stuff across into the new location until it rears it's ugly head again. That way, you might be able to pin it down. I don't think the Mirage is particularly memory hungry.
Badger633 Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Ok thanks will try those things out. Rangi Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Are you going straight from the mission editor into the mission? I have had many memory problems after a longish editing session then going straight into the mission. Now I save the mission, exit the editor and play by going via the mission button in main menu. I vaguely remember someone reported it when 2.0 first came out and don't know if it's been fixed, but I still use this work around to avoid the hassle. Badger633 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 Hi Rangi Yes exactly that I go straight from the editor. Seems ok with the a10c though. I will try doing as you say .
