Chrinik Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 (edited) So I recently read on the facebook page about an issue someone has regarding his tripple monitor setup where it suddenly started to become all choppy and dip into horrible framerates, but would magically run fine when he Alt-tabs out and has something else on the screen. As I thought the issue is with his multi-monitor setup, I paid it little attention. But now it seems to have hit me. I run on 25fps max, if I tab out and have the game running in the background, it´s fine, buttery smooth 80-140 depending on location. This has not occured yesterday. Systemspecs even tho they don´t really matter: Gigabyte z170X-UD3 i7-6700K at 4.5Ghz Gainward GTX 1080 GLH Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 RAM Windows 10 Professional 64 bit Monitor: ASUS ROG PG348Q WQHD I do have a second monitor, but it is not running DCS at all. POTENTIAL FIX/WORKAROUND: So I just thought it was some sort of fullscreen/windowed issue, even tho I checked the box, tested, unchecked, tested and found no change. Pressing Alt+Enter however, brought my frames back to their glory. xxJohnxx Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 I am no expert on this problem, though I have been looking at input devices causing problems due to my own DCS issues... The thing that comes to mind is that as soon as you tab out input devices are disabled. You can move your joystick without the sim recognizing it. Could the cause for your problem be a USB device causing some weird problem? I am investigating the possibility that is the problem on my end, sometimes causing stutters. Due to the problem being very sporadic, I haven't been able to draw a conclusion as of now. EDIT: What is the mainboard you are using? Check out my YouTube: xxJohnxx Intel i7 6800k watercooled | ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 | 32 GB RAM | Asus GTX1080 watercooled
Chrinik Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Added mainboard. Well, Track IR works fine when the game is in the background, control devices are also not "disabled" their input is however used in the foreground application, like your mouse and keyboard. If your HOTAS is not used to control something in your browser, tabbing out to your browser will not make you notice your device is still registering, because it doesn´t do anything. Used to have issues with joysticks interfering in unity games. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] GCI: "Control to SEAD: Enemy SAM site 190 for 30, cleared to engage" Striker: "Copy, say Altitude?"
